Molly Greenwald, MSA
Molly Greenwald, MSA, serves as Chief Financial Officer for the Children’s Trust of Alachua County. Originally from Washington, D.C., she joined the Trust in 2025 and provides executive leadership over the organization’s financial strategy and fiscal operations, including budget development, financial reporting, treasury management, procurement, compliance, and long-range financial planning. As a member of the executive leadership team, she works closely with the Executive Director, senior leadership, and the Board of Directors to advance financial transparency, organizational effectiveness, and strategic investment in children, youth, and families throughout Alachua County.
Prior to joining the Children’s Trust, Greenwald built a multidisciplinary career in executive financial leadership across public-sector finance, private equity-backed organizations, corporate finance, strategic advisory, financial planning and analysis, and organizational transformation. Her experience includes corporate finance strategy, mergers and acquisitions, financial due diligence, valuation, post-acquisition integration, operational restructuring, and enterprise performance improvement. Throughout her career, she has advised executive leadership teams, investors, and boards of directors on complex financial matters, strategic initiatives, governance frameworks, and long-range value creation.
Greenwald’s leadership combines public-sector stewardship with private-sector financial discipline. Her work at the Children’s Trust is focused on strengthening the financial and operational foundation necessary to support a high-performing, accountable, and mission-driven public entity. She brings a strategic lens to institutional stewardship, governance excellence, long-term organizational resilience, and the alignment of financial strategy with the Trust’s public mission and community impact.
Greenwald holds a Master of Science in Forensic Accounting and dual Bachelor’s Degrees in International Finance and International Political Economy from The American University of Rome. She has held securities licenses administered by FINRA and has professional experience in SEC-regulated financial services. She has completed advanced professional training and certifications in financial modeling and analysis, business valuation, and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt methodologies. She has successfully completed three sections of the Uniform Certified Public Accountant Examination and is currently pursuing the Certified Government Finance Officer designation through the Florida Government Finance Officers Association.
Greenwald is a member of Mensa, an international high-IQ society, reflecting the analytical depth and intellectual rigor that inform her approach to finance, governance, and executive leadership. She is also actively engaged in the government finance profession as a member of the Government Finance Officers Association, the Florida Government Finance Officers Association, and her local FGFOA chapter. She serves on the Women’s Public Finance Committee of GFOA, reflecting her commitment to leadership, professional development, and representation within public finance.
In addition to her executive leadership, Greenwald is a speaker, educator, and published scientific author. She has presented to finance and leadership audiences on organizational development, strategic business planning, mergers and acquisitions, financial leadership, operational excellence, and organizational transformation. She also co-authored the peer-reviewed article Detecting Non-Cognitive Features of Prodromal Neurodegenerative Diseases with colleagues from Weill Cornell School of Medicine.
Greenwald’s commitment to public service and philanthropy was shaped early through family involvement with organizations including Make-A-Wish, Washington Hospital Center, and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. At the Children’s Trust, she is dedicated to ensuring that public resources are managed with integrity, transparency, accountability, and strategic purpose to strengthen outcomes for children, youth, and families across Alachua County
