Marsha Kiner is the Executive Director of the Children’s Trust of Alachua County. She was selected by the Board of the Trust after a search and started her new leadership role on October 3, 2022.

Kiner was most recently the Executive Director and CEO of the Association of Florida Colleges. She served as the Associate Executive Director for 14 years and Interim Executive Director for one year. In July 2021, Kiner was promoted to the Executive Director/CEO position and was the first African American in that position in the history of the Association of Florida Colleges.

Kiner was raised in Alachua County, attended local public schools, and worked at Santa Fe College early in her career. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Florida and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Capella University.

She earned the coveted Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation, the top recognition in the field. Kiner was elected the first African American Chair of the Florida Society of Association Executives (FSAE) in 2022. In 2020, she was named the Association Executive of the Year by FSAE. She is a 2011-2013 American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Diversity Executive Leadership Scholar and a graduate of the Florida Society of Association Executives Leadership Academy. She is serving a second term as the Chair of the American Heart Association Florida Advocacy Committee. She is a past Board member of the Institute for Non-Profit Innovation and Excellence (INIE).

Marsha is an active member, mentor, and volunteer with numerous organizations, including the Alzheimer’s Association, Alachua County Schools, Leon County Schools, the American Heart Association, the Leon County Pace Center for Girls, and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
