Deon Carruthers

Deon Carruthers started as a Contract Manager with the Trust on April 26, 2021.

Deon relocated from Madison WI., where he previously served as a Community Development Specialist for the City of Madison Community Development Division for 5 years. Deon managed City Tax Levi and Federal Funding contracts for Child-Age Youth programs, Community Centers, Restorative Justice, and Community Health Programs. Prior to working for the City of Madison, Deon worked 23+ years for Madison Metropolitan School District, as a Parent Liaison, Head HS Girls’ Varsity Basketball Coach, and his last role was a Family Youth and Community Engagement Coordinator for the school district.

Born and raised on the southside of Chicago Illinois (Englewood), he attended Paul Lawrence Dunbar Vocational HS, and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Health and Human Services from Ashford University. Deon has participated on several boards over the years, and has implemented and lead after-school, summer, mentoring, and parent programs during his career. Deon has been recognized for his work and efforts in the community by the Dane County Human Services Department Joining Forces for Families Division, and United Way of Dane County Academic Success Advisory.
